Our architect designed turf-roofed guest cottages set in their own private space on the beautiful Oa peninsula offer a very special guest experience in an extraordinary setting. Our two fabulous guest cottages have been designed by award- winning architect Stuart Bagshaw of Stornoway very much in the spirit of the island vernacular: traditional black house meets neolithic with a healthy dose of contemporary chic. The turfed-roof buildings are built by Island craftsmen using local stone and appear to flow out of the landscape : all in perfect harmony with their surroundings. To add to your comfort each cottage has its own sauna and hand-made hot tub. Reclaimed pitch pine and Caithness slab floors with geothermal underfloor heating ensure the buildings look good and feel good inside as well as out. Spacious and interestingly shaped rooms with amazing views make sure that the stylish interiors are no less impressive than the eco-credentials of these amazing buildings.

Each guest cottage sleeps up to four in two double or twin bedrooms with ensuite walk-in showers and baths. Exclusive use of both cottages provide luxury accommodation for up to eight people. You'll find yourself in a haven of comfort and style at Coillabus with organic linen, silk duvets and real wood furniture including some extra special bespoke pieces. Designer cushions and throws from the iconic Islay Woollen Mill add the finishing touches to the comfortable, stylish rooms. And should you ever be able to avert your gaze from the long, amazing and everchanging views from the curved gallery window- you can enjoy original art from contemporary Scottish artists.
