This light and spacious house is formerly the Exciseman's House for Lochindaal Distillery, Port Charlotte. With southern aspect over the sealoch, the house retains many original features from the late 1800's, such as working shutters, cornicing, original staircase and open fires. Situated in a conservation village, this lovely house offers a peaceful retreat, within 5 minutes' walk of the local amenities, such as hotels, Post Office and museums. Port Charlotte is ideally situated in the Rhinns of Islay, affording access to the local beach and pier, whilst only 20 minutes drive from the wilder western coast, with beaches, hill walking and birdwatching all plentiful. The Lochindaal Distillery site is now being developed by Bruichladdich Distillery.
The Accommodation
There are three bedrooms, bedroom 1 with king size bed, bedroom 2 with king size bed, bedroom 3 with single bed and folding bed. capacity for folding bed to be placed in king size rooms. We have two shower rooms with stylish Italian tiling, new shower cabinets with electric showers and multi light mirrors over wash hand basins. The kitchen has a gas cooker, fridge with freezer cabinet, washing machine, microwave oven, central storage unit with wooden worktop; sliding doors to dining room, windows to west, and south.
In the utility room you will find a washing machine, iron, ironing board, storage; fuel shed with peat, coal, furnacite for stove. The Living room contains an open fire, with guard, ideal for peat or coal burning; a sofa with two single chairs and stools. The television is a combined tv and dvd player with ipod connection and is connected to free sat. The dining room has a closed multi fuel stove which powers the central heating system, a LPG fire, dining room table which comfortably sits eight. Linen is included in price.
