Newhouse, self catering accomodation on the Isle of Islay

Newhouse Bowmore Situated at the top of Flora Street, Bowmore, on the Isle of Islay on the West coast of Scotland, this traditional holiday cottage is ideally located for everything you could want to see or do during your Islay stay.

The cottage offers very comfortable accommodation and can sleep up to 6 people. There are two bedrooms – a double and a twin, as well as a single futon, z-bed and travel cot for the kids. All bed linen is provided but we would be grateful if you could take your own towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with every modern convenience (except a dishwasher!) and all crockery, pots and pans, cutlery, etc is provided. There is freeview TV and DVD player in the lounge, as well as a CD player and a selection of books and games to keep you entertained.

We have just come back from two great weeks on Islay. New House on Flora Street was very comfy. It had everything we needed and was nice to go back to after a day on one of the many beaches or after some rainy day activities the second week (still the beach on a couple of occasions). The ferry was late into Port Ellen due to bad weather and we didn't arrive until almost 10 p.m. Carole, the caretaker had left the coal fire burning for us, it was such a lovely welcome after a long journey. I would definitely recommend New House to anyone who wants a comfy, easy to run, central place to stay in Islay and hope to be able to stay there again myself, - maybe next year.
