The Oystercatcher Bed and Breakfast

The Oystercatcher Bed and Breakfast is a family run B&B located in Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay

The Oystercatcher Bed and Breakfast Port Ellen

Our charming old house is over a hundred years old and has been sympathetically renovated. The rooms are light and airy, with a modern shower/ toilet ensuite. They have tv, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, shower gel and soap provided. The rooms are twin bedded and double. We also have a family room.

Around the house there are plenty books and some games for the use of guests. Outside the house there is ample parking and bikes can be safely stored in our garden at the back of the house. We have become well known for our breakfasts, offering a good choice and a healthy option. When available we offer special such as scallops and bacon and freshly caught brown trout.

We visited the Island this August and stayed at the Ardview which is the house run along with the Oysrecatcher B&B. For a friendly host , accomodation and great food you could stay nowhere better. We had a fantastic time and a place we would definately return too.

Stayed in the Oystercatcher for one night in February 2010. Found it to be a lovely little B&B, very nice, though small, en-suite room with view on to bay. Owner was very friendly and made a lovely breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

We recommend this as a nice place to stay (shame about the weather !) Lyn was really helpful with books and maps and breakfast was really excellent. We would definitely come and stay here again

Definitely the best bed and breakfast on Islay that I have stayed in. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the breakfasts were top class. I would recommend to anyone wishing to stay on Islay.

For us it was the best B&B from our whole Scotland tour, where do you find a breakfast with fresh salmon on toast with seeds? In one word: perfect!
