Loch Gruinart House is situated in the North of Islay, at the head of Loch Gruinart, and within the boundaries of the RSPB Loch Gruinart Nature Reserve. It enjoys a remote location but is a convenient base from which to discover what Islay has to offer all year round including world famous whisky distilleries and a range of outdoor activities. Loch Gruinart House is particularly well placed for those who wish to enjoy the exceptional birds and wildlife of this special island. Formerly a Post office, the house has been run as a Bed and Breakfast establishment for over twenty five years. In addition, the present owners have converted part of the house to provide a one bedroom studio.

Bed and Breakfast Flexible Bed & Breakfast accommodation (double/twin/single) is available for up to six guests with shared bath/shower rooms. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. Most rooms have a wash hand basin and excellent views across Gruinart Flats. A residents lounge and dining area is provided where guests can enjoy a self service continental breakfast of cereals, home made bread, toast, fruits, yoghurts, oatcakes, preserves and fresh orange juice. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in this room and are available to guests throughout the day. This room also has a TV and a range of books, maps and games. Tourist information detailing Islay's visitor attractions is available and your hosts will also be pleased to offer advice on how to make the most of your stay.

Selfcatering The self catering studio is on the ground floor and accommodates two people. It comprises a kitchen/living room with a double/twin bedroom and an en-suite shower room. The studio can be rented on a weekly basis (Sat - Sat) all year round with check in from 3pm on day of arrival and check out by 10am on day of departure. Short breaks may also be available.

Where possible, all food and beverages are from local, organic or fair trade sources. Most of the furniture and soft furnishings are also from Fair Trade sources and are available to purchase or order.
