Lyrabus is a beautiful BnB at the very centre of Islay and just off the road that connects Bridgend with the Gruinart RSPB centre. Lyrabus is run by a lovely couple - Deirdre and Gibson - who will create the most lovely of breakfasts with a very fresh and local selection of fruit a freshly cooked Scottish Breakfast or any continental style foods that you may desire.
Being just off the main road you are still extremely central and all the "extremities" of the Island (Port Charlotte/Bunnahabhain, Portnahaven, Port Ellen and the southern destilleries, Ardnave Point) are within 15 to 30 minutes reach by car. The BnB is extraordinarily clean and cosy, well furnished due to its perfect central location you have good mobile reception and even fast mobile broadband, though you can also use the wireless of the BnB.
I went to Islay for the first time last August and was so impressed that I decided to cancel plans for the North Yorkshire Moors and instead went back to Islay in October. It will not be the last time and I will certainly stay at Lyrabus again.
Thanks Deirdre, Thanks Gibson.
