Enjoy a break on the ‘Queen of the Hebrides’ – Islay! Our traditional weaver’s cottage, built in 1829, provides spacious, comfortable accommodation for six people - ideal for family holidays and celebrations. Well behaved pets are also welcome to stay in the cottage !

As you enter the cottage, there is a spacious vestibule, ideal for hanging up coats and leaving boots! As you enter the hall, the living room is on your left. This cosy room provides books, SKY Plus TV & DVD (with a selection of suitable films) and a lovely original Victorian fireplace. This tempts many even to light it in Summer months! To the right of the hall is the kitchen/dining area. A lovely roomy area with an electric cooker, a microwave and a multi-fuel stove. The utility room off the kitchen, provides an area for wet coats and mucky boots, as well as a washing machine, a dishwasher and a fridge. To the rear of the property, there is a drying area. At the end of the hall is the bathroom, complete with shower attachment. The top floor of the cottage comprises of two large bedrooms, boasting views over the working farm to the Sound of Islay beyond. As you approach the top of the stairs, the bedroom on your right, has a double bed with a fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers. The wardrobe contains a selection of books and toys for children. The linen cupboard is situated in this room as well. A sofa bed is also available for those unexpected guests!. The bedroom on the left provides a double bed and also two single beds. It, too, has a fitted wardrobe and a chest of drawers. In the wardrobe, there is also a fold up bed for that extra visitor! The garage houses garden furniture, and a BBQ. From the front and back garden, there are stunning views of the Paps of Jura – very distinctive conical quartzite mountains which dominate the landscape. The daily ferries to Jura leave from Port Askaig, two miles from Keills, as does the weekly Colonsay ferry. Short breaks are negotiable.
